Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of US President Franklin Roosevelt, was born 1884.Oct.11 in the City of New York, in USA-New York. The most reliable birth time I was able to find was given to me via email correspondence from the Franklin Roosevelt Presidential Library. It states that a telegram was received at 11h30 am by her Great Aunt Elizabeth, and a birth at approximately 11h00 is speculated. I have also collected a number of dates from her personal history posted on the Microsoft Network website, based on data also from the FDR Library... and plan to use them to rectify her chart as one of our lessons.

I had planned to finish up some projects we already started, but decided to honor Ms Roosevelt on her birthday, particularly as she was someone who came from a wealthy and privileged background, but used her substantial political influence to promote socio-economic equity and attend enthusiastically to the needs of the socially disfranchised, rather than promote political policies that further the glaring rift between the rich and the poor, the powerful and the disempowered -- as is the fashion with far too many of today's politicians. Ms Roosevelt truly represented and lived the higher principles of democracy and justice, as was manifest in her advocacy of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the United Nations, as well as her other efforts to rectify social inequities.  Eleanor Roosevelt was not a person who attended only to the needs of her own countrymen or her own social class, but saw all humanity as her family.

Not sure that I didn't already send out the last, and very powerful, of the following 3 quotes from Eleanor Roosevelt:

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." -----

"No matter how plain a woman may be, if truth & loyalty are stamped upon her face all will be attracted to her." -----

and my personal favorite:

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face

-- you must do the thing you think you cannot do." -----

Now, with the UN Chart on the screen of your program, add Eleanor's chart as the Level 2 Chart: 1884.Oct.11 11h00 (estimated) EST5hW New York, USA-New York. Next, display the charts together via the Comparisons—Synastry function. Then click on the UN Sun to point the dial to it. What 2 major personal midpoints for Eleanor fall on the UN Sun and indicate her strong sense of community with the organization? What midpoints indicate that she often had direct and heating discussions over United Nations matters? The following quote by Secretary-General Kofi Annan at the 60th Anniversary commemoration of the UN Charter on 2005Jun26 reminded me of a a very power current directed cluster in the UN Chart we used for the time of the Charter's final ratification (1945.Oct.24 at 12h05 PST8hW in San Francisco, USA-California): "Never in the history of the United Nations have bold decisions been more necessary. And never have they been more possible."

What powerful directed-to-natal cluster which could be interpreted as "bold decisions" shows when we look at directions for September 2005 (at arc 60°30') in the October 1945 (final ratification of UN Charter) chart? Note that this cluster would be almost exact in September 2005, when heated debates over which direction to go. What other directed planet, also within orb and therefore part of the cluster, indicates the powerful public impact of these decisions?

Also note that US President Franklin Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor Roosevelt were enthusiastically involved in setting up the United Nations, which was designed to promote international peace, negotiation, dialogue, and social equity. Eleanor had a particularly strong interest in UNICEF, the UN Children's Fund, which was part of UNESCO (UN Educational and Scientific Organization), and establishing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Next, lets use the Uranian Cluster Synastry table that Ruth developed to quickly see the important 22.5 clusters between the two charts. Access it through the main menu via Synastry—Uranian Cluster Synastry.

The planets and points of both charts are listed in 22.5° format, and are arranged alongside each other so that we can easily see which clusters (within +/- 1° of orb) form when the 2 charts combine. The columns are arranged in pairs. Lets look at the clusters between the 2 charts: Which cluster shows Eleanor's generous and empowering support for the UN? Which cluster shows that involvement with the UN helped structure and deepen Eleanor's logic and communication skills? Which cluster shows that Eleanor brought spiritually-grounded concepts into her communications at the UN? Which cluster shows that Eleanor sacrificed selflessly for UN goals? Which cluster shows that the UN restricted and focused, and perhaps deepened, Eleanor's social life and involvement? Which cluster shows that involvement with the UN developed Eleanor's diplomatic skills and ability to compromise? And which cluster shows that involvement in the UN clarified ambiguities in Eleanor's life and helped her see understand previously confusing or unfamiliar situations?
